Craig Porter Jr. has been a very good story for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2023-2024 ahead of their Friday matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. He has been starting in place of Darius Garland for the last several games because Garland is currently out with a jaw injury.
Porter Jr. in his last game against the Dallas Mavericks in a 113-110 comeback victory, scored nine points, 12 rebounds, recorded seven assists, blocked one shot, and recorded three steals. In the last five games for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he has recorded six or more assists in the last four of those contests.
Craig Porter Jr. has been a very good story for the Cavaliers because he was an undrafted free agent from Witchita State. He signed a two-way contract with the franchise in the summer and Porter Jr. has been impressive with them. Even when Garland returns from injury, there is no doubt he will have a role on this basketball team.

On the year, he has played in 20 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers and is averaging 7.6 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 3.6 APG. After the game on Wednesday night, head coach J.B. Bickerstaff talked about how important Craig Porter Jr. has been to their success as of late with key players sidelined.
Bickerstaff told Logan Potosky of Sports Illustrated:
“He’s a hooper. And his journey, the years that he’s spent in [basketball], his maturity, the places that he’s seen, just give him a poise and a confidence to just go be himself. He’s not trying to be anybody else, and that’s who he is. He’s a stat sheet stuffer. He’s a guy with a high IQ who knows how to impact the game.”
Craig Porter Jr. Will Have Continued Success Against a Bad Milwaukee Bucks Defense

The Milwaukee Bucks have one of the best offenses in the NBA this season, but they also have one of the worst defenses in the NBA this season. This will be a game where Craig Porter Jr. will have continued success. He will be able to score the basketball and he will also get other teammates involved.

This is a huge divisional game for both basketball teams. Cleveland wants to keep this train rolling and it is going to start with Porter Jr. having an effective game. However, the Bucks offense will once again look to outscore everyone.
