Green Bay Packers fans are no stranger to horrible takes from Colin Cowherd. The controversial sports commentator, or analyst, or whatever you want to call him, has always had it out for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. As a result, he has said numerous things that go against common sense when it comes to Green Bay. Earlier this month, he had a take that might rank up there with the worst of them.

The Green Bay Packers are the NFL Version of the Wisconsin Badgers

Colin Cowherd is not a Packers fan, we all know that. Earlier this month, he made a ridiculous comparison and prediction about the team. In short, he compared them to the Wisconsin Badgers. For years, Wisconsin has drawn criticism for being good enough to compete, good enough to win its division of the Big Ten, but not good enough in big games. The Packers, according to Cowherd, are a similar type of team. They can win their division, but cannot get through to the Super Bowl.

A message to the Green Bay Packers from @ColinCowherd:

"It's not working. Congrats on winning a lousy division. Someone has to win the Pac-12, too." pic.twitter.com/LWtxz4Aa0y

    — Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) May 5, 2022

    Does Cowherd Have a Point?

Colin Cowherd is right about one thing: the Packers have struggled to get the Super Bowl. They also have won their division eight times in the last 11 years. However, comparing them to the Wisconsin Badgers is a very flawed argument.

The Wisconsin Badgers, of course, are nowhere close to being an Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, or Georgia like school. That being said, they are plenty better than most other college football programs. The Green Bay Packers, on the other hand, are consistently ranked as one of the top teams in the NFL. Yes, they have not gotten to the Super Bowl in over 10 years. However, at this moment in time, there is no single NFL team that is head and shoulders better than them.

Colin Cowherd also said Joe Burrow would be a disaster in the NFL. Let’s not put too much weight into his “logic.”

Cowherd always had it out for Big Ben and the Steelers as well, however I sort of see what he is saying here truthfully. Infact, you said it yourself by stating how many times they won their division in the past 10 years compared to how far they’ve gone in the playoffs.
I highly doubt he meant that every single thing about them were the same… just that one point. That like Wisconson, they play much better in the regular season compared to when it really counts. And as far as that goes, I gotta agree with the guy. Though I honestly usually don’t. Infact when i saw the title my first thought was “here he goes”, so I was more than suprised when I realized I actually see his point here. Sorry to disappoint. The Steelers haven’t had much success in playoffs recently either. But despite everyone counting us out and thinking we are in a rebuild after Ben’s retirement, we are going to compete for our division in one of the best there are. And a good run in post season would not suprise me. Mark my word. The Steelers are gonna be at the top of the rankings after week 4 or 5.
