Since 2020, Corbin Burnes has established himself as one of the best pitchers in the game. A few of his career accolades include winning the 2021 Cy Young award and ERA title, being a two time All-Star, leading the NL in strikeouts in 2022, recording 58 strikeouts before allowing a walk to begin a season (2021), having a 15 strikeout game including 10 consecutive punch outs, and much more. However, Burnes recently discussed one career goal that he is still looking to accomplish. That is making a deep post season run and winning the World Series.
MLB Network was recently in the Milwaukee Brewers spring training camp. During an interview, Burnes was asked what was left for him to prove on the mound at this stage in his career. He followed the question up by saying, “For me it’s about staying healthy, doing what I can to help the team, going out every five days, and for me the last thing to check off is making a deep post season run and winning the World Series”.
"The last thing to check off is making a deep postseason run and win the World Series. That's the goal coming into camp."

Corbin Burnes’ career post-season statistics with the Brewers.
In 2018, Corbin Burnes was a part of the Brewers squad that finished one game shy of making the World Series. During that post-season he made six appearances and allowed just two earned runs over nine innings pitched. At that time, he was operating out of the bullpen and not as a starting pitcher.
Burnes did not get to pitch during the Brewers 2019 and 2020 post-season games. The Crew lost in the wild card game in 2019 and Burnes was injured at the end of the shortened 2020 season. This prevented him from pitching against the Dodgers in 2020.
In 2021, Burnes made one start against the Atlanta Braves during the National League Division Series. Over six innings he did not allow a single earned run. Overall, he has 15 career post-season innings, a 1.20 ERA, and 17 strikeouts.
Hopefully the Brewers and Corbin Burnes can return to the play-offs in 2023 and accomplish the goal of a deep post-season run that results in a World Series win. The Brewers have never won a World Series.
