Connor Krznarich has been fielding college interest since he was an underclassman. He has excelled in both football and track for his entire high school career. He is now beginning to reap the benefits of the years of hard work he put into them.

As of November 23rd, 2022, Connor Krznarich is officially committed to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to play both football and track.

Krznarich was a member of Franklin’s 2021 State Championship team. The Sabers, led by the now Badger Quarterback Myles Burkett, went 14-0 on the season. Although the team had an explosive offense that season, they were able to get to the state title game thanks to some incredible defensive heroics. Krznarich was a big part of the defense over the last few seasons. He is now ready to bring that skill and intensity to the college level.

    Why Platteville?

When asked why he chose Platteville, Krznarich placed a ton of emphasis on the coaching staff. Connor said from day one, the coaches there made him feel like he was already a part of the family. During the recruiting process, Connor placed a lot of focus on culture and community because he understands how much that factors into team success. At Franklin, the team was one tight-knit family, and they were extremely successful thanks to that bond.

In addition to the sense of family, Krznarich was impressed by the level of planning the team put into his future with the team. Connor said back in July when they first offered him, they already had ideas on how he’d fit into the team going forward. Once he made his official visit, they had a finalized plan that laid out his path to success for the Pioneers. Krznarich said this was made him confident in his decision since they had a similar vision to him in terms of positioning and playing time.

The final factor that stood out most to Krznarich was the facilities at UW-Platteville. Out of all eight schools Connor toured, he said Platteville had by far the best facilities. Training and preparation are extremely important to Krznarich. Finding a school that invested in its’ players training was key in his recruitment.

What is Krznarich Bringing to Platteville?

Most importantly, Platteville just added a high character individual with a ton of natural talent, and an unmatched work ethic. Krznarich is a stand-up young man who has the ability to lead others to success. His addition to the Pioneers roster should set them up for success on the defensive end for the next four to five years.

From his own perspective, Krznarich said he hopes Platteville fans are excited for the energy he is going to bring to Pioneer football and track. Connor said he is committed to bringing 110% effort every single day for his brothers on the gridiron. Krznarich promises energy, physicality, and mental toughness every single game day.

Overall, Krznarich is a young man who is committed to reaching his goals. He has reached his dream of playing football at the college level. However, he’s now ready for the next wave of goals. Some of the biggest goals he wants the fans to know about are winning a Conference Championship, and pushing for a National Championship.

Congratulations to Connor Krznarich on his college commitment.
