A showdown between two 1-0 squads is on tap for Week 2’s Thursday Night Football, as the Green Bay Packers host Terry McLaurin and the Washington Commanders. Washington plays its first road game of the 2025 NFL regular season with a visit this coming Thursday to Lambeau Field in Green Bay, with McLaurin also looking to rebound from a letdown performance in Week 1 against the New York Giants in Landover.

The Commanders defeated New York, 21-6, but McLaurin didn’t contribute much to his team’s victory. The former Ohio State Buckeyes star wide receiver only came away with 27 receiving yards on two catches and four targets.

He may get contained anew by the opposing side, this time by the Packers, with Green Bay flexing a dangerous defense that just landed arguably the best pass rusher in the league today in the form of Micah Parsons.

The Washington Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin (17) will take on the New York Giants in a Week 1 matchup.

Despite the seemingly intimidating outlook for Washington on Thursday in Titletown, McLaurin showed confidence in himself and his team.

“They’re a really good opponent,” McLaurin told reporters, as he talked about Green Bay, per Ethan Cadeaux of Monumental Sports Network. “They’re coming off a really strong division win as well. … Playing in Lambeau is definitely an advantage, but we’re up for the challenge.”

Selected in the third round (76th overall) by the Commanders at the 2019 NFL draft, McLaurin has shared the field with Green Bay three times so far in his career, amassing totals of 252 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 16 receptions and 27 targets in those meetings.
