The Green Bay Packers have a big challenge ahead in Week 2 following their win over the Detroit Lions last Sunday at Lambeau Field. Up next for Jordan Love and company is a date with the Washington Commanders, who are also coming off a win in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season, as they took down the New York Giants at Northwest Stadium in Landover, 21-6.

Washington presents different types of problems for the Packers. For one, the Commanders have a dynamic quarterback in Jayden Daniels, a dual-threat weapon for Washington. Defensively, Washington has lots of playmakers as well, including veteran defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who is expecting a tough outing for both sides.

In an interview before Thursday Night Football’s game between Washington and Green Bay, Kinlaw had an interesting take to describe what to expect in the contest.

Via Scott Abraham of 7News DC:

Commanders DT Javon Kinlaw is quickly becoming one of my favorite dudes in that locker room.

He will always shoot you straight.

I asked Javon about this game on Thursday.

He told me, “it’s going to be a heavyweight bout…it’s an ice bag game.”

Kinlaw’s statement sparked plenty of reactions from fans online, many from Commanders supporters.

“This mfer a menace Excatly how i want my DL.”

“We needed someone like him in this locker room badly.”

“JK is all about business no jokes no games let’s get to it.”

    “One of them dawgs!!!!!”

“This is one of my favorite pickups and I’ve said it all off-season/ he was going to be a big piece for our defense.”

Kinlaw, who signed with Washington in March after four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and a year with the New York Jets, had four total tackles and two quarterback hits in the Giants game.
