AFC South Team Suggested As Possible Jordan Love Trade Destination

The 2023 offseason is off to a slow start for the Green Bay Packers. Everything is waiting on the decision that Aaron Rodgers chooses to make and whether or not he will be back for another season in the green and yellow. Many fans would rather the franchise move forward with Jordan Love under center, but it seems like the choice is in Rodgers’ hands.

At this point in time, the belief of many is that Rodgers will simply return for another year in Green Bay. Just a few short weeks ago, the rumor mill had Rodgers already on his way out of town. No one knows what his decision will be, but we are all hoping that it comes soon.

Should the Packers and Rodgers end up staying together, there have been rumors that Love could request a trade. The front office has been open about Love being ready to play. He wants to play as well and could look for another situation to become a starter if Rodgers returns to Green Bay.

If he does request a trade, it seems very likely that quite a few teams around the NFL would have interest in trading for a talent like Love.

Colts Suggested As Possible Trade Destination For Jordan Love

Kenneth Teape of NFL Analysis Network floated the idea of Jordan Love being traded to the Colts in a recent article. The move would make sense for the Colts, although it would cause a lot of issues within the Packers’ fan base.

“Seeing as he has already been in the NFL for three seasons learning behind Rodgers, Love should be much further ahead than the prospects in this year’s draft class. Unless the Colts can move up to No. 1 and select Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud, which would cost a lot of assets as well, they are better off making a move for someone such as Love.”

For the Packers, this would be a worst-case scenario situation. Love is still viewed within the organization as the quarterback of the future. Unfortunately, due to how they have handled the Rodgers situation, they are kind of tied to the longtime superstar. Also, no one wants the breakup with Rodgers to get ugly like it did with Brett Favre.

Ideally, the Packers will be able to either trade Rodgers this offseason peacefully, have him retire, or simply keep Love around with the promise that he will be the starting quarterback next season.

There is no telling what the situation will end up being. Jordan Love has a right to get on the field and Rodgers has a right to want to stay in town with the contract he agreed to. All we can do now is wait and see what happens.
