It took until week 10 but the Christian Watson pick finally looks amazing. Watson exploded today with three total touchdowns and was quickly the go-to target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. His career started out in the worst way possible dropping a sure 75-yard touchdown in the week 1 game against Minnesota. After today’s game, he was asked about that drop. Christian Watson gave a strong statement about his week 1 drop.
Christian Watson Gives Strong Statement About Week 1 Drop
Christian Watson on his season-opening drop in Minnesota: "I forgot about that play already. So much that I forgot what play you're even talking about."

Watson has a short memory. When asked about the week 1 drop, he said, “I forgot about that play already.” He has erased it from his memory. A drop like that has the chance to completely ruin the confidence of a receiver, especially a rookie. The Packers continued to use Watson in more gadget plays but nothing downfield. Injuries have also made it challenging as Watson has had to deal with a hamstring injury and a concussion. The Packers never gave up and he never lost confidence. Today showed the potential that he has as a receiver in the NFL.
If Watson Can Stay Healthy, The League Should Watch Out
If Watson is able to stay on the field, the league should be very scared of the young receiving corp the Packers have. Watson’s speed is unmatched and fellow rookie Romeo Doubs has shown some promise early as well. Injuries are somewhat luck-based so hopefully, Watson has gotten all of his bad luck out of the way. The Dallas secondary is tough and Watson made them look foolish today. If both Watson and Doubs can turn into solid receivers, the Packers are going to be tough to beat.
It is great to see Watson have a breakout game. So many people have been critical of him for things that are out of his control. Injuries are a part of the NFL. Today he showed what he can bring to the team and Packers fans should be excited.
