Chris Olave Mentions Heavy Conversations with Packers Ahead of Draft

The draft is less than 24 hours away and we all know where the Green Bay Packers priorities are.  After losing both Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the off-season, wide receiver is atop their list.  Chris Olave has been a fan favorite of the Packers all off-season.  His route running speaks for itself, and the Packers have gotten used to good route runners in Green Bay (Davante Adams).

    Chris Olave’s Comments:

Olave had a lot to say about his pre-draft conversations with the Packers:

Mentioning that he has had “conversations with the Packers a lot” and later mentioning that “it would be crazy to play with Aaron Rodgers” as he is the “best quarterback ever.”

In three seasons starting at Ohio State, Chris Olave recorded:

    • 164 receptions (best season was 2021 with 65)
    • 2,514 receiving yards (best season was 2021 with 936)
    • 32 receiving touchdowns (best season was 2021 with 13)
    • 0 recorded fumbles

Olave peaked at the right time and is now one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft.

    Draft Projections:

Chris Olave has been all over the board when it comes to mock draft projections by multiple different sites.  One thing seems to be constant, however: he is a first round draft pick.  Where exactly in the the first round is the question. Green Bay may need to trade up if they want to go after this wide receiver.

    • CBS Sport Tom Fornelli: #17 to the LA Chargers
    • CBS Sports Josh Edwards: #21 the the New England Patriots
    • Pro Football Network Joe Broback: #32 to the Detroit Lions
    • The Draft Network Damian Parson: #28 to the Green Bay Packers
    • NFL Spin Zone Sayre Bedinger: #28 to the Green Bay Packers
    • Primetime Sports Talk Mike Fanelli: #28 to the Green Bay Packers

As teams across the NFL seem to fall more in love with Olave during the off-season Green Bay need to move up to get him, however if he falls to Green Bay at #22, that would be a huge win.
