NBA legend Charles Barkley isn’t pleased with how Giannis Antetokounmpo has been handling his situation with the Milwaukee Bucks. Barkley criticized the two-time MVP for, as he put it, keeping the team in limbo while pursuing another championship, arguing that his actions are putting unnecessary pressure on the franchise.
“It’s interesting how these guys, they feel like they’re’ entitled to play for the championship every year,” said Barkley.

“You got to give the Milwaukee Bucks credit. I wish a person loved me as the Bucks love Giannis. I really do. They went out and got him Dame Lillard. They went out and got him Myles Turner. They have done everything possible to try to make the Bucks win again.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s recent remarks have fueled speculation about his possible departure, perhaps even before the trade deadline. The Greek Freak remains one of the league’s most dominant forces, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists across 67 games last season. Still, the Bucks have struggled to recapture their 2021 championship form. The team has suffered three straight first-round playoff exits, including back-to-back eliminations at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
For the Bucks to secure Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee, they need to make a convincing playoff push and show him through results that the franchise still deserves his trust and dedication.
