The Badgers look to prove themselves as a dominant football team following a roller-coaster 2022.
Following a 2-3 start to the 2022 season the Badgers had fired coach Paul Chryst on Oct. 2, 2022. Jim Leonhard took over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season ending 7-6 overall, and staying above .500 to end the year.
First year head coach Luke Fickell has the chance to improve this team heading a different direction after posting a 48-15 record over his five years with the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Expect to see veteran players like Running Back Braelon Allen continue to dominate and give this Badger team a positive season. Allen played and started all 12 games he was in at running back. Allen led the Badgers and ranked 4th within the Big Ten posting 1,242 rushing yards.
Following the exit of quarterback Graham Mertz, the Badgers now turn to sixth year quarterback Tanner Mordecai, who started his two seasons at SMU.
The Badgers open the 2023 season in the always loud Camp Randall Stadium against the Buffalo Bulls on September 2.
