The Milwaukee Bucks faced the Orlando Magic again on Wednesday night after losing to them on Monday. The second face-off between the two Eastern Conference foes tilted in Milwaukee’s favor thanks to an explosion off the bench by new addition Cam Thomas, who went for 34 points and earned the Bucks a 116-108 win.
Milwaukee Bucks Take Revenge on Orlando Magic Thanks to Cam Thomas’ 34 Points
The Milwaukee Bucks got what they were looking for and split a two-game series with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday evening, avenging their Monday evening loss at the Kia Center. After losing on the boards by 7 in the first matchup, big man Jericho Sims and guard Kevin Porter Jr. both grabbed double-digit rebounds and help the Bucks dominate on the glass 47-30. With some hot shooting to complement the physicality down low, the Bucks won the game 116-108.
The story of the night was Cam Thomas, who was playing in just his second game as a Buck. After an unimpressive first outing in just 13 minutes on Monday, Thomas played 25 minutes on Wednesday and gave fans a taste of what he can offer. His 34 points came on 12-20 shooting, where he looked comfortable at all three levels.
It’s hard not to feel excited about what Thomas can do with the basketball. Even Giannis Antetokounmpo was seen feeling good after Thomas drained a deep three late to fully seal the victory.

Thomas showed the best version of himself in a back-and-forth game that the Bucks will feel really good about winning. Despite his shortcomings, Thomas has the capability to be a true microwave off the bench for Doc Rivers, and showed the ability to do so efficiently in his first big opportunity.
Cam Thomas Leads the Way for Milwaukee Bucks
While Thomas’ performance is what will be firing up Bucks fans, there were several other impressive performances from the squad on Wednesday. Firstly, Jericho Sims scored his career-high, tallying 17 points to go with 11 rebounds. He was a perfect 5-5 from the field and 6-6 from the free-throw line.

Secondly, Ousmane Dieng was the other new Buck to have a strong game. While Thomas stole the show with 34 points, Dieng was also playing in just his second game but added 17 of his own. The young Frenchman went 5-8 from deep and showed his ability to contribute offensively.
Lastly, Kevin Porter Jr. earned his sixth triple-double performance with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. His +/- of 11 led the team on the night.
The Bucks have one more game before the All-Star break and will face Oklahoma City on Thursday.
