The last couple weeks have been a roller coaster for Badgers fans regarding the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. From having a legitimate chance to land the superstar quarterback to then reports of him calling Coach Chryst saying he will not be attending. In the end, it was an exciting story and something most Badger fans knew was a longshot.
Williams to USC
Caleb Williams will be headed to USC to follow his former coach Lincoln Riley. It will be interesting to see how USC does this season. I know a lot of Wisconsin fans will have there eye on the Trojans this season. Personally, I remain optimistic about the upcoming season and what this offense will look like.

Badger Fans Remain Optimistic
Something that I am hopeful for this upcoming Badger season is how Graham Mertz responds to this situation. I think it is fair to assume that Mertz has seen the uproar on social media about the possibility of Williams coming to the Badgers. One thing we know for sure about Mertz is he is a fierce competitor. I hope this news lights a fire under him for Spring ball and the upcoming season. Let’s not forget some of the positive moments from Mertz this season. Statistically it wasn’t great, but some of throws he made were a glimpse into what he can become and what the Badgers had hoped for in this high recruit.

New Look Offense
The offense as a whole has me anxious to see how they perform. The WR group is the one I may be most excited about. Their are huge shoes to fill after losing Danny Davis and Kendric Pryor. However, the Badgers have some young talent that will be filling that role. A trio of Markus Allen, Chimere Dike and now Dean engram at wide receiver could be a dangerous group. Not to mention, young guys like Stephan Bracey and Skyler Bell looking to be more involved in the offense. We know the offensive line and defense will be solid, and there is no need to even mention how good the running back room will be. So, if Mertz and this passing game can find some consistency under new OC Bobby Engram. The Badgers could still make some noise in the Big Ten this season.
