The Milwaukee Bucks are weighing trade options following an inconsistent 8-10 start, keeping Zach LaVine under review. The front office is running routine evaluations, and while no deal is imminent, interest may grow once Giannis Antetokounmpo recovers from his low-grade adductor strain.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that the Bucks have “conducted background due diligence on Zach LaVine and others around the league,” but league sources indicate that “nothing is imminent.”

“The Milwaukee Bucks have conducted background due diligence on Zach LaVine and others around the league, as usual, sources told HoopsHype. However, nothing is imminent as Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo nears a return from a low-grade adductor strain. Should Milwaukee’s interest in LaVine become more serious, it’s worth noting that Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma and Kings Governor Vivek Ranadive both invested in a new women’s professional sports venture called Major League Volleyball, and Kuzma has been linked to the Kings via trade rumors for several seasons,” Scotto wrote.

The Bucks could pair Giannis Antetokounmpo with Zach Lavine

Zach LaVine is putting up 20.5 points in 33.5 minutes for the struggling 5-13 Kings, who have yet to find consistent rhythm despite DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis’ scoring. LaVine carries one of the league’s largest guard contracts, with two years remaining on his five-year, $215 million deal, including a player option for 2026-27.

The Kings’ slasher is set to earn $47.5 million this season and holds a $48.97 million player option for 2026-27.

LaVine’s scoring ability and efficiency make him an attractive target for teams in need of instant offensive firepower. With Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined, the Bucks are seeking ways to stabilize their attack.

The Greek Freak is averaging 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists through 13 games, yet Milwaukee’s offense has struggled without him.

Ryan Rollins contributes 18.2 points per game, and Kyle Kuzma adds 13.6 points and 4.4 rebounds, but the team has failed to produce consistent perimeter creation.

LaVine’s skill at creating shots off the dribble could attract Milwaukee’s front office, especially paired with a healthy Giannis Antetokounmpo and the floor spacing provided by Myles Turner and Bobby Portis. He remains one of the league’s better scorers, though his defensive shortcomings and hefty contract are factors any potential trade partner must consider.
