Bucks TV Viewing Options are Limited
The 56-22 Milwaukee Bucks take on the 34-44 Washington Wizards in the Nation’s Capital, somewhat close to the Capitol Building. (Capital vs Capitol is always such a weird grammar mistake.) The Bucks are suddenly back in good graces after a strong win at home vs the 76er’s. However, the blowout home loss vs Boston still lingers.
Every single NBA team had the day off yesterday, April 3rd. Tonight it’ll be hard to catch the game on Bally Sports- the Brewers game is being broadcast on Bally’s Sports in the Greenfield/Brookfield Metro- instead of the Bucks. Of course, if you use the “app” or other means, then you are all set.
The Eastern Conference playoff picture is also all set. The four playoff “play-in” teams appear to be Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and Toronto. Milwaukee will face off in round one vs the worst one.
Washington has been eliminated from playoff contention.
Washington and Milwaukee have played three times already. Washington beat Milwaukee on New Year’s Day 118-95. Then two days later the Wizards and Bucks played in Milwaukee where the Bucks won 123-113. Then Milwaukee beat Washington again 117-111. The Bucks lead the all-time series against Washington 129-95.
Milwaukee is a 13 point favorite. The Bucks have clinched the Central Division crown and simply need to go 2-2 to all but wrap up the number one seed.

Bucks keys
Keep shooting the three
The Bucks average over 40 three point attempts a game. (Washington averages 31 per game) The Bucks and their offense is built around Giannis driving the ball and kicking it out to a shooter. It is working so far so keep shooting the three.
In this one you’d love to see a 18-45 type shooting night from downtown and some decent presence down low. If the Bucks go completely stone cold from three they might lose: that can happen to any team in today’s NBA.
Pad the Stats
This is an NBA regular season game and the show must go on. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the team’s leading scorer with 31.1 points per game. (Tonight he should go for 50!) He also leads the team in rebounding with 11.8 a game. (How about a quick 18 rebound effort!) Brook Lopez leads the team with 2.5 blocks. (Go for at least 4?) Jrue Holiday leads the team in assists with 7.2 a game. (We’ll all take 10 assists!) He also leads the team in steals 1.2 a game. If any of these three guys play they really need to just do what they do: score, rebound, pass and block shots. Pad those stats. “You do you.”
Meyers Leonard also did not play in the loss to Boston or in the win vs the Sixers. If he is healthy, he needs to play. Milwaukee picked up some guys (Goran Dragic) for these end-of-the-season moments.
AJ Green and MarJon, “where are you at?”: they need to play! Let’s see 20 minutes each from the rookies. Hey, if the Brewers can do it, so can the Bucks! Let’s see some of the team’s bench put up some numbers!
The Opponent: The Washington Wizards
Former Badger Johnny Davis has been a recent highlight for the Wizards. He is only averaging 3/1/1 but Washington has basically shut down Beal, Porzingis and any other veteran they have. He’ll get a chance to play.
Kyle Kuzma is also listed as out. With Beal out the team loses their number one scoring option.
Beal leads the team in scoring with 22.9 points a game. Porzingis is a close second at 22.8 per game. They had high hopes that pair might work out. Now it is not looking so good.
Corey Kispert has been playing a lot off the bench. The 24 yr old 1st round pick averages 9 points a game.
Against the Knicks in a loss, the Wizards started Johnny Davis, Kispert, Daniel Gafford, NBA Vet Delon Wright and Deni Avdijia. One could argue that almost any Bucks player would be better than any of those five.
Things to tell your buddies as you are watching the game
- According to behindthebuckpass and author Jacob Nett, the Bucks were predicted to go 55-27. The have done much better than that.
- According to author “Zack” and Back Page sports, the Bucks were predicted to go 52-30. Again, they have done much better than that.
- Almost every news outlet that makes predictions did not have the Wizards making the playoffs. It turns out many of them were correct.
- It is hard to not think about the Wizards franchise and remember them as the Washington Bullets. (Like, why that for a name?) Depending on your perspective, you can make a line to this team being part of the original eight NBA teams. The Wizards were the Bullets for forever. They rebranded in 1997.
