The Milwaukee Bucks seem determined to close out the season with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup. Trade rumors have swirled amid concerns that the roster isn’t strong enough to compete for a championship, but following his return from injury, Antetokounmpo appeared focused on staying committed to the team in his recent media availabilities.

The Bucks have entered trade discussions to strengthen their roster and maintain Giannis Antetokounmpo’s commitment. ESPN’s Jamal Collier reported that three players are reportedly being considered in these talks.

“Multiple team and league sources say the team has been active in pursuing the trade market, engaging in internal conversations about, among others, Sacramento’s Zach LaVine, whom they have had interest in and chances to acquire in the past, and Malik Monk, as well as Portland’s Jerami Grant,” wrote the ESPN insider.

All three players currently play for teams that could be looking to acquire future assets. Milwaukee, however, has a limited pool of trade assets, making any deal far more complicated than usual. Any team engaging with the Bucks would likely need to be motivated to shed contracts or take a chance on less proven players in return.

The Sacramento Kings play a central role in these discussions since two of the three players are on their roster. Zach LaVine stands out as the most prominent name and the Bucks’ best shot at boosting the team’s ceiling. As a former All-Star and proven scorer, he would provide Antetokounmpo with a reliable second offensive option each night.

Malik Monk is the other guard from the Kings that the Bucks are reportedly targeting, and he comes at a more affordable cost. Several players on the Bucks’ roster could fit Monk’s contract, meaning Milwaukee wouldn’t need to part with significant draft assets to make the deal happen.

Jerami Grant emerges as the top all-around target, bringing more than just points to the floor. The Bucks need a wing who can lock down opposing stars while actively creating offense to relieve Giannis and elevate the team’s scoring.

Each of the three players could boost Giannis and Milwaukee’s playoff prospects, yet the road to a serious title run still looks challenging.
