The Miami Heat are scheduled to face the Milwaukee Bucks this weekend. Forward P.J Tucker, who won a title with the Bucks last season, returns with the Heat, giving an emotional message when he talked about what Milwaukee really means to him and the return to Fiserv Forum.
Tucker signed a two-year deal with the Miami Heat in the offseason after spending a short, but memorable tenure in Milwaukee and their championship winning season. The 6-foot-5 forward helped the Bucks and their sensational run to the NBA championship after he was acquired via trade with the Houston Rockets in March of this year.
“I’ll Always Love Milwaukee”
Tucker told the Journal Sentinel in an interview that he will never forget Milwaukee; The fanbase truly made the experience remarkable for him.
“I’ll always love Milwaukee,” he said. “I’ll love the people of Milwaukee forever. They embraced me so much from day one when I first got there to the day I left; they were always there, they always had my back.”
P.J Tucker to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
The Journal Sentinel mentions several points where Tucker shows admiration both on and off the court.
It was moments like when he went nose-to-nose with Kevin Durant. Or the day he put on a yellow ski mask and rode through the April snow in his Ferrari with the top down. And to the infamous the champagne chug, that made fans love P.J Tucker more and more.
While he’s back with a different team getting a ring, receiving his first ring with the Bucks was memorable. After bouncing around several NBA teams in his career, Tucker really found himself in Milwaukee; Hopefully that’ll carry with him as he plays in Miami.
Even though he’s wearing a Heat jersey on Saturday at the Fiserv, Milwaukee fans are always going to have their love and admiration for P.J. Tucker; no matter what jersey he has on his back.
