The Milwaukee Bucks are suddenly rolling, as they are on a three-game winning streak following a 105-99 takedown of the Indian Pacers at home on Friday.
Before that, they clobbered the Chicago Bulls (131-115) and outlasted the New Orleans Pelicans for a double-overtime 141-137 victory.
With Milwaukee’s great form of late, the Bucks made a move, striking while the iron is hot.
On Sunday, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Milwaukee and former LSU Tigers star Cam Thomas have struck a deal.
“Free agent guard Cam Thomas has agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, his agent Tony Ronzone of Wasserman tells ESPN. Thomas, 24, averaged 21.4 points per game over the last three seasons with the Nets,” Charania wrote in a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
Bucks get a new scorer amid winning streak
The 24-year-old Thomas was waived by the Brooklyn Nets just last week, making him a free agent.
It makes sense for Milwaukee to make such a move on Thomas, especially given the team’s struggles on offense in the 2025-26 NBA season. Through Sunday, the Bucks are just 27th in the league with an average of 112.0 points per game and 24th with 113.0 points per 100 possessions.
In 24 games with the Nets this season, Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.
One drawback on Thomas is his inefficiency with his shot. He is shooting just 39.9 percent from the floor this season and 32.5 percent from behind the arc. He also owns a 46.1 effective field goal percentage.
In any case, he should see ample scoring opportunities for the Bucks.
