Former Milwaukee Bucks foward Thanasis Antetokounmpo has announced that he is back and is ready to come back to the court after a year of rehabbing his torn Achilles tendon. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother made the announcement himself in his podcast the Thanalysis Show.

He was not re-signed by the Bucks at the start of the 2024-2025 season as he needed a full season to recover from the injury.
His announcement has many Bucks fans celebrating.
Great news for the Bucks. Thanasis brings that much-needed energy off the bench and his return will definitely boost team morale. Giannis must be thrilled to have his brother back in action.

Of course, the older Antetokounmpo only announced that he can play basketball again but that does not necessarily mean he will be with the Bucks again as he remains a free agent entering the new season.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo is key to get Giannis
Patrick Beverley previously touched on the topic that Antetokounmpo is loyal to the Bucks because of how the organization treated his family, including having his brother on the team.
It was an effective strategy for Milwaukee as Thanasis served as the voice that controls the Greek Freak whenever he was about to go berserk for a hard foul or missed call. He is also the one who motivates him when things go south.
Him being on the bench led to an NBA title in 2021.

This is why many believe Thanasis could be the key to get Giannis Antetokounmpo who is heavily linked to many teams right now.
Thanasis is viewed as some kind of energy ball on the Bucks bench and when it comes to his brother Giannis, he’s like the battery that should be included in the package.
The lottery to get the two-time MVP hinges on Thanasis being included in the package.
