Milwaukee Bucks social media community went wild on Thursday with the news of Damian Lillard getting cleared from the deep vein thrombosis diagnosis he received late March.

Lillard undernwent blood-thinning for the ailment which according to experts takes around three months to fully heal. Therefore, he was declared out indefinitely.
Many Bucks fans already accepted the fact that for a third straight season, they won’t have their second star in the postseason.
Miracles, or in this case, science, do happen and now, there’s a chance he will see playoffs action.
“Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard has been cleared of his deep vein thrombosis and is no longer on blood-thinning medication, sources tell ESPN. Lillard is out for Game 1 Saturday against Indiana and will have a period of time to resume contact workouts and ramp up for return,” NBA insider Shams Charania reported through X.
Head coach Doc Rivers said on Wednesday that they shut down Lillard in practice and did not make him do any drills.
Lillard has been present in team games and he was probably dropping clues about his return.

Latest clip from Thursday practice show him shooting the ball already.

There is no assurance, however, that he will be available to play in the first round which happens to be a rematch with the Indiana Pacers and is set to start on Saturday.
Milwaukee Bucks in frenzy over Damian Lillard news
Bucks fans celebrated the news of Lillard’s possible 2024-2025 season return. Some of them thanked the Bucks medical staff, recalling how they were able to make Giannis Antetokounmpo return earlier than expected after suffering hyperextended knee injury during the 2021 championship run.
Giannis returning in a week with a hyperextended knee. Dame’s “historic” return in 3 weeks with a blood clot. Yeah this medical staff is goated man.

Really nice now to not have Game 2 until Tuesday and not have Game 3 until Friday.
Gives Dame as much time as possible to potentially return in one of those games.

The Bucks simply moved up their extended absences to March instead of April/May and now get Portis, Sims, and hopefully Dame back in time for the real games. Very smart time management imo
