Milwaukee handed the Boston Celtics their first loss in five games while doing it without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks spread the scoring around, with five players reaching double figures and Kevin Porter Jr. posting a triple-double.

For an 11–15 team that has spent weeks dealing with Giannis-related noise, it was a much-needed result on the floor.

Kyle Kuzma set the tone for Milwaukee with a 31-point night, leading the Bucks in the win. Bobby Portis also delivered a strong showing with 27 points, and the duo etched their names into the record books.

According to Nathan Marzion, Kuzma and Portis became the first teammates in NBA history to each score at least 25 points with zero assists while shooting 75 percent from the field in the same game.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 30 points and Jordan Walsh chipped in 20, but Boston’s five-game winning streak came to an end.

Pritchard and Walsh each made three three-pointers in the first half. Still, the Celtics struggled from beyond the arc overall, connecting on just 14 of 49 attempts, a 28.6 percent clip.

The Bucks stayed in rhythm throughout the game, shooting 58.2 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Milwaukee, trailing by 10 early, cut the deficit to 30–29, but the Celtics countered with a 23–9 stretch, pushing ahead 52–38 on a Payton Pritchard three-pointer with just under seven minutes left in the first half.

Boston carried a 67–60 lead into halftime. Kuzma scored nine points during an 11–0 run that pulled the Bucks even at 71 apiece midway through the third quarter.

Milwaukee moved to 2-7 this season without Antetokounmpo, who sat out his third straight game with a strained right calf. Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.9 points and 10.1 rebounds and is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks.

Questions continue to surround Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee. He and his agent are expected to meet with the Bucks to discuss what direction makes the most sense for his career. While many signs suggest a trade could be coming, Giannis has yet to publicly ask for one.

For now, the Bucks can only tune out the noise and focus on stacking wins on the floor.
