While the Bucks’ season has started great, there have been quite a lot of injuries. Two key players, Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton have not played at all this season. The young players on the team have stepped up which is great but the Bucks will need their starters back at some point. Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer provided injury updates on two key players
Bucks Budenholzer Provides Injury Updates On Key Players
#Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer on Khris Middleton (wrist): Erring on the side of caution, but he’s progressing.
On Pat Connaughton (calf): Recovery has taken longer than initially thought, but has progressed & is getting closer to a return.

The Bucks are being cautious with Middleton. He is with the G-League affiliate right now which is a positive step. He seems to be progressing well but the Bucks are in no hurry to rush him back into the lineup. Connaughton’s injury is taking longer to heal than expected. Muscle injuries are always tricky and it seems that the calf is not healing as expected. Similar to Middleton, Budenholzer is pleased with how he is progressing and is closer to a return.
Bucks Hot Start Gives Them Flexibility
There is a lot of good news that comes with a hot start. In this context, the Bucks are not fretting about key players being out because they are still winning. As the team starts to make a playoff push (or a push for the no. 1 seed) they will need their best players. The great start means they can take their time. While other struggling teams may try to rush back a player before he is ready, the Bucks can make sure Middleton and Connaughton are one hundred percent before inserting them back into the lineup.
It was positive to hear Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer talk about these injury updates. He doesn’t seem concerned at all about the recoveries and while they may be taking longer than expected, no major setbacks have happened. The Bucks will look to continue their winning ways as these two key players work their way back from injury.
