Milwaukee Buck missed seeing Giannis Antetokounmpo play and it seems the Greek Freak missed it big time, too, by displaying dominance in their first EuroBasket 2025 win.
Greece met Italy and made sure they took care of the business led by Giannis who scored 31 points on 14 out of 20 shooting.
Giannis was expected to be the center of attention in the tournament and he did deliver.
The two-time NBA MVP just can’t be stopped in the game with multiple dunks. The game looked easy for him.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will still need help
Antetokounmpo was dominant but he was the only one who scored in double digits in that game. Tyler Dorsey had the second most attempt in the game with seven although he only six points.
The next top scorers were Konstantinos Mitoglou and Kostas Sloukas who got nine each on a combined nine attempts.
Head coach Vassilis Spanoulis said the offense can still be improved, especially in transition.
“I think we had a good game defensively,” he told reporters after the game.
“Offensively we had some good moments and some not-so-good moments. We need to have a little more patience in our offense and more easy points on fast breaks. Our team can run, our team can shoot, we need to find more ways to be successful in offensive transition.”
Kostas Papanikolaou has the same sentiment.
“We had some moments in the second quarter – some stretches where we were not executing our plan. But we said before we came here that we want to keep evolving and getting better during the tournament.”
Greece will return to action on Saturday against hosts Cyprus at 11:15 a.m. ET. Greece are favorites in the group although media members are not convinced they will got that far.
