    Jerry TappBy Jerry TappJanuary 16, 2023Updated:August 31, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read
    A.J. Green

Milwaukee Bucks rookie A.J. Green in his last four games scored 40 points and made 12 of his last 25 three-point attempts. In his last two games, both against the Miami Heat, Green tallied 24 points and made half his three-point attempts (eight-of-16).

Green’s increased playing time… he has played in eight of the Bucks’ last nine games after playing in only 12 of the team’s first 34 contests… has shown the Bucks that he is ready to contribute in his first year.

    A.J. Green’s .433 three-point percentage ranks 2nd among rookies

The increased time on the court has allowed Green to shoot near the top of the list of the best three-point shooting rookies in the NBA this year. Green has made 26-of-60 three-pointers for the Bucks this season, a .433 percentage. That is second among first-year players this season.

Here are the Top 5 of rookie three-point shooters this season in the league (minimum of 40 attempts to qualify).

    1. Patrick Baldwin, Golden State, .435
    2. J. Green, Milwaukee, .433
    3. Max Christie, L.A. Lakers, .422
    4. Keegan Murray, Sacramento, .404
    5. Andrew Nembhard, Indiana, .385

Of all NBA players with a minimum of 40 three-point attempts this season, Green’s .433 percentage ranks 13th.

Fellow Bucks’ rookie MarJon Beauchamp is 34-for-105 on three-point attempts, a .324 percentage. That ranks 15th among rookies.

Bucks rookies Green and Beauchamp have combined for 60 made threes

Green and Beauchamp have combined for 60 made three-pointers this season, sixth most among team rookies this season. The Indiana Pacers rookies top the list with a combined 119 three-pointers made.

Following are the teams with the most three-pointers made by their rookies this season.

    119-Indiana
    112-Houston
    96-Sacramento
    89-Orlando
    63-Atlanta
