Spring training baseball is right around the corner. This year, the World Baseball Classic will be going on as well in addition to teams normal spring training games. As we approach the return of baseball, teams are starting to finalize their non-roster invitee list. Here is the most up to take non-roster invitee list for the Brewers.
Non-roster invitee means that a player is invited to Major League camp with a team despite not being on the 40-man roster. Players can participate in spring training games. Eventually they are fizzled out of camp as players on the active roster start to see more playing time in order to prepare for the regular season. Occasionally some under the radar players perform well enough to earn an active roster spot.
Below is the most up to date Brewers non-roster invitee list for 2023 spring training
The non roster invitees that play the field are: Luke Voit, Tyler Naquin, Jon Singleton, Jefferson Quero, Alex Jackson, Brian Navarreto, Eddy Alvarez, Andrew Monasterio, Skye Bolt, Josh VanMeter, Sal Frelick, and Joey Wiemer, and Monte Harrison. Pitchers include: Alex Claudio, Lucas Erceg, Robert Gasser, Tyler Herb, J.C. Mejia, Tobias Myers, Thomas Pannone, and Thyago Vieira, Robert Stock, and Colin Rea.
Prospects within the Brewers top 30, according to MLB Pipeline, that are invited to Major League camp include Sal Frelick (2nd), Joey Wiemer (3rd), Jefferson Quero (7th) and Robert Gasser (10th). The Brewers have a few players on the 40-man roster who are still prospects including: Brice Turang (4th), Garrett Mitchell (5th), Ethan Small (11th), Janson Junk (13th), Abner Uribe (26th), and Cam Robinson (28th).
This list can continue to change. On February 21 the Brewers signed Luke Voit and Tyler Naquin. They are the most recent additions to their non-roster invitee list.
