The trade deadline is quickly approaching as August 2nd is the last day to make trades. The Brewers do not have any gaping holes on the roster positionally, but they could be looking to give the offense a boost. Rumors had linked them to Andrew Benintendi before he was traded to the Yankees. However there are plenty of players still out there the Brewers could add. Josh Bell and J.D. Martinez are two bats that are being shopped by their respective teams, but recently it was reported that All-Star Joc Pederson is also available.
#SFGiants also now listening on their veterans. Carlos Rodon and Joc Pederson are among obvious candidates if they do sell. Rodon has an opt out and Pederson is free after the year.

Should The Brewers Add Joc Pederson?
Simply put, Joc Pederson has hurt the Brewers quite a bit recently. Last season, Pederson hit multiple home runs against the Brewers in the NLDS. Pederson has a good outfield arm and is a power bat that could help the Brewers offense. Pederson is slashing .242/.319/.492 this season and has an OPS of .811. However, the most important factor in adding Joc Pederson is his post season performance. Pederson has played in the postseason every year since 2015 and has won a World Series twice in that span.
What Would it Cost The Brewers?
Joc Pederson is a free agent after the season ends so he would be a cheap rental for the Brewers. Pederson would most likely be traded for one or two of the Brewers middle to lower ranked prospects. The Giant are looking to add some younger pieces to an older roster and moving Joc Pederson would be good start.
