The Milwaukee Brewers outfield group is currently a little thin. Yes, they have Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, and Christian Yelich all active and healthy, but Chourio has had some lapses defensively and Yelich has been playing a lot of designated hitter lately.
With Garrett Mitchell out due to an oblique injury and Blake Perkins still sidelined by a spring training injury, guys like Jake Bauers, Daz Cameron, and Issac Collins have seen more than a fair amount of outfield playing time. Unfortunately, Bauers has struck out in 37% of his at-bats, Cameron is batting just .118, and Collins has just a .682 OPS.
To make matters worse, Milwaukee’s offense has sputtered as a unit at times this year, evidenced by being shutout four times in the month of May. Additionally, their .665 team OPS ranks sixth worst in the league. Looking for a spark, they have signed a hero from the 2021 playoffs to a minor league deal that also helps provide depth to their outfield.
Milwaukee Brewers sign 2021 playoff hero Eddie Rosario to a MiLB deal

According to Adam McCalvy at MLB.com, Eddie Rosario has signed a minor league deal with the Brewers. He will report to Triple-A Nashville and be active for their game on Thursday, May 15.
Rosario’s heroic playoff run in 2021 that resulted in a Braves World Series championship began against Milwaukee during the NLDS. In the final game of the NLDS that year Rosario had a clutch two out, two RBI base knock off Hunter Strickland that temporarily gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead.
When the Braves moved on, Rosario earned NLCS MVP honors by going 6-14 against the Dodgers that included three home runs and nine RBI that series. His hot streak continued into the World Series as he helped the Braves knock off the Houston Astros in six games.
How has Eddie Rosario performed since the 2021 playoffs?

According to MLB Trade Rumors, since Rosario’s memorable playoff run he has been a .221/.267/.379 hitter in more than 1100 plate appearances. He’s had stints with multiple teams since then, including temporarily returning to Atlanta numerous times as well as tenures with the Nationals and Dodgers.
Milwaukee appears to be Rosario’s next stop. The 33 year old won’t make an immediate impact on the big leagues club, but with the team searching for answers offensively he may be granted an opportunity sooner rather than later.
