The Milwaukee Brewers needed to get injected with something that will make them put up a fight ahead of the third game of their series with the Cleveland Guardians. They may have received that through an emergency meeting according to Sal Frelick.

The Brew Crew were just listless in the first two games, getting shut out in both games while giving up a total of seven runs. Some thought those games were continuation of their struggle in the previous series where they did not break past four runs.
The team became more desperate heading into the Wednesday game. Team leaders needed another meeting to sort things out.
This was the second time in the last three weeks that the team had an emergency meeting after their obvious struggles.

Frelick, the day’s hero, thought that meeting played a huge part in the 9-5 win.

Frelick, who energized the team by letting out his emotions on the field, looked back at that meeting and said that mindset of the players has been adjusted heading into the match.
“Just the mindset headed into the game was a little more important today,” he said.
He then continued to say that he was so confident about his squad he knew they will perform until the last inning.

“Obviously, you don’t want to get swept. I think when we got to the field today, I knew we were going to put a full nine [innings] together.
Associate manager Rickie Weeks was also just as confident. He knew they will recover through the veterans that they have.
“We have Rhys, and we have [Christian] Yelich to say things that need to be said,” Weeks said. “But I think with the next wave of guys coming up, it’s like, ‘It’s OK to speak up. It’s OK to own the moment if you play the game the right way.’
“And we have those guys.”
