The Milwaukee Brewers have been remarkably successful at signing international players, with Jackson Chourio, Jeferson Quero, Jesus Made, Luis Pena, Luis Lara, and others all initially joining the organization as teenage prospects out of their respective countries.

This year’s international signing period officially opens on January 15 and will remain open through December 15, 2026, though most agreements with top prospects are expected to be announced immediately. The Brewers enter the period with $7,357,100 in pool money, an amount tied for the second-largest allotment in the league. However, Milwaukee is not alone at that figure, as several other teams will be operating with the same level of available funds.

More ofen than not, deals are in place before the signing period officially kicks off. With that information out there, Ben Badler of Baseball America has revealed one top prospect that Milwaukee is inline to sign later this week.

Shortstop Ricky Moneys, ranked as the No. 19 prospect in this year’s international class by MLB.com, is expected to sign with the Brewers, according to Badler. The 6-foot, 180-pound infielder is a right-handed hitter and thrower, with scouts giving his power tool a 60 grade, the highest mark in his overall evaluation.

Ricky Moneys will be one of the Milwaukee Brewers’ top international signings this week.

MLB.com also notes that there is a clear upward trajectory to Moneys’ overall profile. He plays with high intensity and has a strong track record of in-game production, reinforcing scouts’ confidence that his power will continue to grow as he gains more experience and repetitions. Power, performance, and athleticism stand out as the core strengths of Moneys’ game, and the Brewers will hope he can develop into another successful international signing within their system.
