In the eyes of several fans the Milwaukee Brewers front office is currently pubic enemy number one. The most recent animosity has come following the organization’s decision to take star pitcher Corbin Burnes to arbitration over a $740,000 difference and tarnish their relationship with him in the process. Following Burnes’ interview with the media, former Brewers pitcher Don August had some strong comments regarding the situation.
Don August played with the Brewers from 1988-1991 in which all of his Major League experience was during that time. He threw 440 innings for Milwaukee and had a 4.64 career ERA. He also pitched in the 1984 Olympics and won a silver medal.
Don August sounds off on the Brewers for taking Corbin Burnes to arbitration.

As for the Brewers putting Burnes on the forefront of missing the post season in 2022, Don August had this to say.
If blame was put on Corbin for missing the playoffs, I’m not sure we’re watching the same game as the front office. Shocking and alarming to say the least. Burnes’ comments and the Brewers decision to even take him to arbitration has drawn the attention of many. As a result, the idea of Milwaukee signing him to a long term contract is now basically out of the window and trade speculations are starting up again. Only time will tell how the rest of Burnes’ tenure with the Brewers will play out.
