Pat Murphy’s Milwaukee Brewers were struggling heavily more than a week ago but they have put all that in the past now and they are playing like they are ready to dominate.

The team recorded their second series sweep with another dominant performance against the Philadelphia Phillies. It is a follow up to the gritty series within they recorded against the Boston Red Sox.
Sunday night’s win, according to Murphy, will be a good morale booster for the team.
“This is a really good team,” Murphy said. “Best record in the National League. It was really a nice series. Different guys stepped up.”
The Phillies were among the better teams so far in this early, placing second behind the New York Mets in the NL East Conference.

Meanwhile, the Brewers came to the Citizens Bank Park as the underdog due to their past underwhelming performances. They are now just 1.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second spot in the NL Central.
What changed? Murphy thinks a particular game served as their wake up call.
Pat Murphy on what changed for Milwaukee Brewers
The Pittsburgh Pirates were the lower-ranked team compared to the Phillies. Despite that, Brewers struggled against them, surrendering the 3-game series, 1-2.
Milwaukee the last game against the Pirates and they had to bleed to do that. That game is somehow similar to their latest win.

Murphy said that is one game that probably changed the mindset of the whole team.
“That was an indicator,” Murphy told reporters after Sunday’s game.
“That day was an indicator. After the game I’m like, ‘Hell yeah. We did that.’ And it wasn’t supposed to happen. Last day of the series, day game, everything was going right for them. Every ball they hit (was falling).”
“Everything was going wrong. Sure enough, we came back and it kind of felt like something turned.”
Brewers will continue to hope their great run when they visit the Cincinnati Reds for another three-game affair.
