Pat Murphy recently spoke at the Baseball Writers Association of Americas gala, where he was on the podium to accept the 2025 Manager of the Year award. As expected, he shared a few laughs by, thanked his family, and gave all the credit to his players.
Despite interacting and coaching countless players, Murphy specifically called out Christian Yelich and Freddy Peralta for their leadership. He used them as examples, when talking about how the team rallied behind starting 0-4 and the worst run differential in baseball.
Ultimately, Murphy said that Yelich and Peralta were hungry and aware, and those two words is what he used to define the 2025 Brewers.
