Milwaukee Brewers head coach Pat Murphy inserted flame-throwing prospect Jacob Misiorowski in the rotation and that came at the expense of Aaron Civale who was moved down to the bullpen. Now, there seems to a discord between the veteran pitcher and the team.

Civale, who was signed by the Brewers in 2024, reportedly made a trade request following Misiorowski’s insertion for the game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Milwaukee won that game and the 23-year-old had a great debut, posting five strikeouts and four walks.
Civale said he already talked to the organization about how he feels about the recent developments.

“We’re exploring opportunities for me to get back into a rotation, whether that’s here or elsewhere,” Civale said Thursday.
“That type of decision is out of my hands. We’re exploring the options to give me the chance to do what I do best, and that’s to go out there and start.”
Pat Murphy did not mince words on Civale
Civale worked his ways towards a successful return. His arrival was highly anticipated due to the struggles in the pitching department early into the season.
However, things don’t always go smooth.
Murphy understands what Civale is feeling but he still expects him to be professional throughout the negotiations. He is confident that the RHP will be confident about it.

“He’s got a right to feel how he wants to feel, but now it’s time for him to go behave,” Murphy told reporters on Thursday.
“He’s got to go pitch for us if we ask him to pitch for us, and I think he will. He’s that type of guy and I respect him a great deal.”
