Christian Yelich is just a shell of his 2024 self at-bat these days and on Sunday, he tried to look for some magic to prevent the Milwaukee Brewers from getting swept by the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Brewers beat the Rays, 4-2, on Mother’s Day at the George M. Steinbrenner Field in Florida through the heroics of Yelich and William Contreras.
Yelich’s mom was not there but she was a huge reason why Yelich played great that afternoon as the 2018 NL MVP opted to use his pink bat which carries the engraved name of his mother Alecia.
Yelich hit one of the two home runs in the fourth inning to help his team take control of the game. He gives credits to the pink bat for that.

He and the Brewers needed some boost as he is currently recording .648 OPS, a far cry from his .910 last year heading to the All-Star Game.
Christian Yelich’s bat did the job
Yelich, who has been a media darling in Wisconsin, created another tender moment in front of fans, in front of mothers who were celebrating Mother’s Day.
Not only that, he found his stroke again as he raised his season average to .208 because of the two hits using his mother-inspired pink bat.
Talking to reporters post-game, he said he pulled out the bat out of desperation.
“Well, I couldn’t be getting much worse up there,” he said.

“I was like, ‘I might as well use my pink bat and see what happens.’ I’ve used them in the past before but I haven’t used them the last few years, maybe one at-bat and then switched over.
“It couldn’t be getting much worse out there, so I might as well use my pink bat and see what happens,”
“But figured might as well let it ride today and see what happens, and it ended up being a good day.”
