Christian Yelich and the Milwaukee Brewers fell for a third time in their four-game series with the San Francisco Giants and the last one is the most heartbreaking of all to the point that they had to do an urgent meeting moments after the loss.

They had players who made statements in the series but the last game was just unacceptable for many.
The victory was for the Brewers’ taking in the eighth inning but they allowed two runs, allowing their hosts to steal it.
Yelich, who had a fair share of struggle this season, was at the center of the defensive vulnerabilities late in the game and manager Pat Murphy was visibly livid about the lapses.
He surrendered a line drive off of Willy Adames’ bat in medium-depth left field. From there, the Giants gained confidence while the Brewers were like frozen.
Murphy called out the team saying their defense was among the worst he’s seen in a decade. He, however, takes accountability for the loss.

“As a leader, I needed to say something,” he said.
“It was about love and discipline. Maybe I need to give more love and we need to have more discipline. This team can’t be an elite team unless we play a little bit ‘uncommon.’ Unless we have an edge like you saw a lot of last year — not all of last year, but you saw it a lot — we can’t compete the way we want to compete unless we have that.”
Christian Yelich owns up to the error
Yelich downplayed the closed-door meeting that they had saying it was ‘not anything crazy.’
He also owned up to the mistake he had late in the eighth inning that cost them the game.
“Everybody knows. When you make a mistake, you know you made a mistake and you need to be better,” Yelich said.

“But just to address it and make sure it’s not something that keeps spiraling is a good thing.”
