Caleb Durbin used to have his family and friends behind him in his baseball games but this time, as part of the Milwaukee Brewers, they are on the other side and it is understandable.

Durbin’s family are die hard Chicago Cubs fans and this week, they had the dilemma of whether rooting for Caleb and cheering for their favorite team. They chose the latter naturally.
The Brewers rookie had to break their hearts a little as the infielder struck two home runs in the earlier innings that proved crucial when the smokes settled. The 25-year-old Lake Forest-native was responsible for the two-run homer in the second inning that put Milwaukee up 4-2 after trailing by one run in the first inning.
The team had control since then. The Cubs tried to mount a comeback in the seventh and eighth inning when they recorded two runs in each but they came up short. Brewers win, 8-7.

Manager Pat Murphy’s squad was able to tie the series after losing the first game, 3-5.
Caleb Durbin had fun playing vs family
Durbinl, who has been impressing everyone since his debut, had a moment to remember in the win and his family and friends probably would want something different.
“They joke around like, ‘Hey, come on now,’” Durbin said when asked about the reaction of his loved ones about his hits.
“But, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. I have family and friends that are pretty diehard Cubs fans who are here. So, yeah, it’s a lot of fun.”
Turning serious, he praised his childhood team and detailed what was it they needed to beat the Cubs who are currently at the top of the National League Centra, 5.5 games above them.

“Really good at-bats up and down the lineup, which is probably what it’s going to take to beat a team like that, because they do have a lot of offensive firepower over there, too,” he said.
“Just being stingy and getting good swings off when we can, and obviously, we did enough today to win. That’s all that matters.”
