Today was the deadline for the Brewers to exchange arbitration numbers with players. This resulted in 10 players agreeing to deals for the 2023 season. If this seems like a high number, that is because the Brewers had a league high number of arbitration eligible players this off-season.
Earlier this offseason, the Brewers settled with pitchers Adrian Houser and Matt Bush and infielder Mike Brosseau to avoid arbitration.
Below is a list of players who agreed to terms on Friday and settled on a salary for the 2023 season. Headlining the list is Willy Adames, Brandon Woodruff, Rowdy Tellez, Luis Urias, Eric Lauer, and Devin Williams.
The following 10 players have agreed to 1-year contracts, avoiding arbitration:

There is one Brewer player missing from this list.
You may have noticed that Brewers ace Corbin Burnes is not on the list. He is an arbitration eligible player and was tendered a contract in November. This does not mean that Burnes won’t be on the team in 2023, rather the two sides may end up meeting in a court hearing in order to have his 2023 salary determined.
Arbitration hearings typically take place in the middle of February. At that time, Burnes’ 2023 salary will be determined. The two sides can continue negotiating contract details up until the hearing date. Here is what Matt Arnold had to say regarding Burnes and the Brewers being unable to come to terms.
“Look, we’re still open to having conversations. Corbin is a super-talented player, and it’s a unique case, right? There are very relevant comparables for him on both sides of the ledger that make sense, and it’s really just part of the process. We certainly don’t want anyone to take any of these negotiations personally. We love these guys like crazy.”
