The Brewers could look to add a package of prospects in a potential Freddy Peralta blockbuster trade before opening day, but several of Milwaukee’s top prospects currently in the farm system around among the most highly-touted at their position in the sport.

Ahead of the 2026 season getting underway, Baseball America released its annual ranking of the top prospects at every position, and the Brewers were well represented on that list.

Milwaukee Brewers third base prospect Luke Adams takes batting practice during spring training workouts Monday, February 17, 2025, at American Family Fields of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.

Luke Adams checks in as Baseball America’s No. 9-ranked first baseman prospect, with spring training looming.

“Milwaukee’s No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline, hit .232/.409/.450 with 11 home runs in Biloxi last year,” Adam Zimmer points out for BrewCrew Ball. “He did miss the better part of two months with an injury, but when he was on the field, he was a standout player for the Shuckers. The 21-year-old Adams is well-rounded at the plate (213 walks to 260 strikeouts with the organization), which is a profile that should translate to the big leagues eventually.”

If the Brewers do decide to pull the trigger on a Freddy Peralta blockbuster, they would be doing so from a position of immense strength. Adding more elite talent to a farm system that already boasts stars like Luke Adams ensures that Milwaukee’s competitive window remains wide open for years to come.

With the amount of talent the Brewers currently boast down on the farm, that window may only just now be opening.
