Brewers fans have been unable to witness Luis Urias donning the Gold and Blue since early in Spring Training due to a quad injury. In just the second Spring Training Game of the year, Urias pulled his quad while running the bases and has been on a slow path back to health since. The Brewers placed Urias on the 10 day injured list on opening day and he has been rehabbing through the early part of the season.
Urias began his rehab assignement with Biloxi on Sunday April 24th. Urias got involved in the scoring right away with an RBI groundout in the first inning.

Urias overall has put together a 2-8 stat line in his first two games including a double and that RBI. While Urias continues to test his quad, the swing will certainly have some rust. Urias has been out of action for well over a month coming into Sunday night’s contest.
Urias’ Return Can’t Come Soon Enough for the Brewers
The Brewers have a glaring need for Urias and his bat to return to their every day lineup. While the Crew has strung together a 10-7 record coming into play Tuesday, the offense has been lacking. Urias is poised to have a breakout year after a strong showing in 2021.
The Brewers have been relying on Jace Peterson to be the primary third baseman through the first two and a half weeks of the season. Peterson has struggled early in that role hitting just .147 through his first 14 games. Peterson has hit 5-34 with 6 walks in his appearances. While Peterson has been playing a solid third base defensively, the Brewers no doubt need a boost in this lineup.
The Brewers next relief option at third base has been Michael Brosseau. While Brosseau has had ample opportunities at positions other than third, he has been the second option behind Peterson. Through his first 10 games, Brosseau has hit .211 going just 4 for 19. Brosseau ripped a solo shot in Chicago, but has been lacking offensively. Between Peterson and Brosseau, the Brewers are able to get by until Urias is fully up to speed, but there is no doubt Counsell and Brewers fans everywhere are looking forward to his return to this lineup.
Update
As this is being written, Urias currently is 0-1 with a walk and a run scored in Biloxi on Tuesday night.
