The Milwaukee Brewers sent one of their top prospects, Esteury Ruiz, to the Oakland A’s in the trade that brought All-Star catcher to the team earlier this offseason. Now, another former Brewers player is set to sign with Oakland. According to Susan Slusser of The San Francisco Chronicle, Jesus Aguilar is signing with the A’s.

In 2022, Jesus Aguilar split time between the Miami Marlins and Baltimore Orioles. In 129 games, he hit .225/.281/.379 with 16 home runs and 51 RBI.
Jesus Aguilar with the Brewers
Of course, Jesus Aguilar came to fame with the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2017, he had a bit of a breakout in the second half of the season, finishing the year hitting .265/.331/.505 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI.
The next season, however, would be Aguilar’s best in Milwaukee and of his career. That season, he hit .274/.352/.539 with 35 home runs and 108 RBI. When Aguilar was not named to the All-Star team initially, he was one of five NL players that was up for election to the game via fan vote. Brewers fans, using the campaign slogan “We Believe in Jesus,” were able to get him elected to the game. It was the first, and thus far only, time Aguilar made an All-Star team.
