Just as the Brewers make their final push towards the playoffs, the potential missing piece on offense is on his way back. The Brewers sit 2.5 games back on the Wild Card and enter their toughest stretch throughout September that can make or break the team. The team is in need of a boost to help win some games and solidify their spot in the post-season. With the September call-ups, it is possible the Brewers start to rotate in new bats.
Timber Rattlers Welcome Brosseau
First Baseman Mike Brosseau is scheduled to start a rehab assignment for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers this week. He will play September 6th and 7th for the team against the Beloit Sky Carp on the road. Brosseau will start both games for the team during his brief rehab assignment before rejoining the Brewers.
Brosseau will add depth at multiple positions as a quality utility man. He also had a solid season this year in limited action with five homers as well as a batting average of .258. Brosseau is best known for his home run against the Yankees in the 2020 playoffs that advanced the Rays. He could be on track to return to the Brewers very soon, barring any setbacks, and then he should be available.
His return comes after hitting the injured list August 23rd with an oblique strain. He also had multiple other rehab stints this year with the Timber Rattlers. He appeared in three games in late June on a rehab assignment. Perhaps Brosseau enters the Brewers lineup once he returns to get a fresh bat in.
