The Milwaukee Brewers are less than two months away from opening day against the New York Yankees. That being said, this season will have a special meaning behind it.
Legendary announcer Bob Uecker has passed away.
“Oh My God” Brewers Fans React To Heartbreaking Franchise News (Report)
According to multiple reports:
The Milwaukee Brewers are just a few months away from starting their 2025 campaign. However, this season they will be doing it with heavy hearts.
For more than 50 years, Milwaukee Brewers fans have listened to Bob Uecker’s performance as quick-witted reporter:
Uecker, whose humor made him a celebrity far outside of the baseball world, died Thursday at 90 years old, the Brewers announced. The Uecker family said in a statement that he had been battling small cell lung cancer since early 2023.
Uecker was the play-by-play voice of the Milwaukee Brewers dating to 1971, one of the longest runs by a broadcaster with one team in MLB history.
“Ueck was the light of the Brewers, the soundtrack of our summers, the laughter in our hearts, and his passing is a profound loss,” the Brewers said in a statement.
“He was the heart and soul of Wisconsin and a dear friend. Bob loved people; his presence warmed every room and he had a way of welcoming all of us into his world as if we were lifelong friends.”

This is so hard 🫶Harry Carray died when I was 9 and that was the first death I understood. So hard to lose a treasured baseball voice.
