The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t made a huge splash this offseason, they are the reigning National League Central Champions. The team is hoping for breakout seasons from several of their young, talented players. One of those young players is Jackson Chourio, Brewer fans and media are clamoring over what kind of a season he can have.
Chourio had a fantastic rookie season last year. he finished the season slashing .275/.327/.464 with 21 home runs, 79 RBIs, 22 stolen bases, 29 doubles, and four triples in 148 games played. His 3.8 wins above replacement at 20 years old is almost unheard of.
With Chourio headed into his second big league season, he is projected to take a huge jump, as shared by MLB.com’s David Adler.
“Jackson Chourio, OF, Brewers,” Adler said. “28 HR, 27 SB, 96 R, 119 wRC+, 3.3 WAR. Similar to (Julio Rodríguez), Chourio could be a 30-30 player in 2025. He went 20-20 as a 20-year-old rookie in 2024. Can he get to 30-30 at age 21? Chourio is a special talent, which is why his impressive Steamer projections are pretty easily believable.
“Chourio is one of only 10 players projected for at least 25 homers and 25 steals this season. The others: (Shohei Ohtani), (Bobby Witt Jr.), (José Ramírez), Rodríguez, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Luis Robert Jr., Ronald Acuña Jr., Elly De La Cruz and Corbin Carroll. That’s a star-studded group to be a part of.”
He should be hitting somewhere in the middle of the Brewers potent lineup, if he can stay healthy the sky is the limit for this young man, a future cornerstone for years to come.

Brewers Honor Axford with Wall of Honor Induction
The Milwaukee Brewers have announced John Axford will join the Brewers Wall of Honor during the 2025 season.
The Brewers Wall of Honor is a distinction awarded to players, coaches, and executives who meet a set of criteria based on service to the organization and career accomplishments. Axford will join the permanent exhibit with a bronze plaque affixed to the exterior of the ballpark commemorating his contribution to the franchise.
Axford spent six seasons over two different stints with the Brewers (2009-13, 2021)and ranks third in franchise history in saves (106). He holds the franchise single-season records in saves (46) and consecutive saves (43) both set during the 2011 campaign in which he posted a 1.95 ERA with 86 strikeouts in 74 relief appearances. Axford recorded 49 consecutive saves between the 2011 and 2012 seasons, which is a franchise record and the sixth-longest run in Major League history.
Axford was named the 2011 National League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year after tying the Braves’ Craig Kimbrel for the NL lead in saves (46) He helped the Brewers reach the 2011 National League Championship by posting a 1.29 ERA with 3 saves and 6 appearances in the postseason.

$55 Million Investment: American Family Field Upgrades for Year-Round Events
The nearly $55 million approved to winterize American Family Field in Milwaukee, with the taxpayer’s district funds will allow for winter events and concerts at the stadium. The spending includes $25 million to winterize the stadium, meaning the improvements would allow for the seating bowl to be 68 degrees even when temperatures outside are 10 below zero.
The Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District Board also approved $10 million for social gathering spaces, $500,000 for roof repairs, $661,000 to build a sensory room, and $500,000 to upgrade the umpire locker room for women umpires, WISN reported.
The issue with spending and winterization is that stadium concert tours do not occur in the winter because artists do not put together tours during a time of year when only some stadiums and cities can be visited.
“The difference between an outdoor stadium and an indoor stadium is essentially zero in terms of events,” economist Victor Matheson told The Center Square while discussing similar claims involving a roofed NFL stadium in Nashville. “The reason for that is that all the big tours all go out in the summer specifically so they can use all the outdoor stadiums in the country rather than the limited number of domed stadiums.”
American Family Field has a capacity of nearly 42,000, which is larger than most concert venues that artists perform at, to begin with.
Winterizing the stadium could lead to the stadium hosting The NHL Winter Classic and the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball Final Four.
