Although their paths never crossed on the Milwaukee Brewers in 2025, catcher Danny Jansen and relief pitcher Tyler Alexander will now be teammates on the Texas Rangers. Jansen has reportedly signed a multi year, $14.5 million deal whereas Alexander signed for a single year.
In addition to signing catcher Danny Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract, the Texas Rangers are also in agreement on one-year contracts with right-handed reliever Alexis Díaz and left-hander Tyler Alexander, sources tell ESPN. @ByRobertMurray had the Jansen news first.

Former 2025 Milwaukee Brewers Danny Jansen and Tyler Alexander have signed with the Texas Rangers

Last off-season, Alexander was a late addition to the Brewers roster, signing in February. Due to Milwaukee having a significant shortage of starting pitchers early on last year, he started four games for the Brew Crew. Outside of an impressive outing where he went 5.2 inning scoreless against the Reds on April 4, his results were inconsistent. He was designated for assignment on June 1 and subsequently released on June 6.
Meanwhile, Jansen was added in late July, as Milwaukee wanted to bolster its depth at catcher knowing that everyday starter William Contreras was playing through a fractured finger. The Wisconsin native didn’t receive many opportunities with the Brewers, appearing in just 25 games, but now has inked a pretty large contract with the Rangers.
