Brandon Woodruff was efficient in his last game with Triple A Nashville as his return for the Milwaukee Brewers get nearer. Woodruff hasn’t played majors in 602 days as he recovers from a shoulder injury surgery.

He has been strict with his recovery timeline and utilized the minors to find his rhythm and stroke. In his last game, he remained efficient on lighter work load.
Brandon Woodruff’s day is done. By design, a shorter outing for the @nashvillesounds today in what’s expected to be his final rehab outing. Final line: 2.1ip, 1r, 2h (both weak singles), 0bb, 3k (39/28). #Brewers

Woodruff allowed one earned run on two hits. He gave no walks and struck out three batters over 2.1 innings on Sunday. His four-seamer reached 93.2 mph maximum as he recorded an average of 90.7 mph in his throws.

He is expected to get a regular workload with Brewers once he’s activated.
Brandon Woodruff’s 2025 debut will be at home
The good news about Woodruff comes at a time when the team shuffles its bullpen with some players getting sent to the minors to find their form.
They are still not rushing the veteran pitcher. General manager Matt Arnold said he won’t make his debut yet when they travel for their series with the Cleveland Guardians.

“We could have put him in the rotation sooner, but he felt like he needed another outing, lighter,” Brewers GM Matt Arnold said. “He just doesn’t want to have to go back on the IL. So that was the big thing.
“The other thing that I think was a factor there is him being able to make his start back at home. Just having the emotion tied to that rather than have him come back in Cleveland – I think he wants to do that in front of the home crowd.”
