The Milwaukee Brewers have added another offensive bat to their line up and bench, while losing more solid relievers via trade this season.

Tellez is a left-handed first baseman and has been with the Toronto Blue Jays his entire career. He made his debut in 2018. Rowdy is a career .241 hitter, and in 2019 he had 21 home runs, 54 RBIs, 29 walks and 19 doubles. His career slash numbers are .241/.301/.458 and has a career OPS of .759.
The California native was injured near the end of the 2020 season, but did play 35 games and end with a .283 average. So far this season, he has bounced back-and-forth between the Blue Jays and the minor leagues.
So far during 2021, he has a batting average of .209, four home runs, eight RBIs and 33 strike outs. He is compared to current injured Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Daniel Vogelbach. A left-handed power bat infielder with a lower batting average, but enough offensive power to help bring in runs.
He will also be first base depth in case Keston Hiura‘s struggles continue or needs additional days off.
First baseman Rowdy Tellez is headed to the Brewers, as @Ken_Rosenthal said. Didn’t have a spot in Toronto. Jays need relief, and right-hander Trevor Richards, sources said, is going to Toronto. He’s now been dealt twice in the last six weeks.

Players Going to Toronto
Trevor Richards will now join his third team over seven weeks during the 2021 season. He came over with Willy Adames from the Tampa Bay Rays earlier in the season. The Brewers are now losing another pair of relievers for Tellez.
Over 15 games with Milwaukee, Richards appeared in 15 games and had an ERA of 3.20, record of 3-0 and 25 strike outs. Before coming to the Brewers, his ERA was at 4.50.
Bowden Francis is a 25-year-old righty who was currently with the Triple-A Affiliate Nashville Sounds. He has a career ERA of 4.23 and a record of 22-23 over 69 games. He was Milwaukee’s seventh round pick in 2017.
Tellez will most likely start in the minors or join the current Brewers roster and split time at first base while Daniel Vogelbach remains on the injured list.
