Former Packers quarterback Brett Hundley signed with the Vegas Vipers right before the start of the season. His huge contract made many people think that he would be the starter going into week 1. However, journeyman Luis Perez got the start in week 1. He threw two pick-6s and the Vipers lost a close one. Perez got the start in week 2 but was pulled and Hundley made his XFL debut.
The @XFLVipers lead the @XFLDefenders 6-0 after one. QB Brett Hundley made his debut in the quarter, and so far is playing pretty well.
Vegas needs to get this guy into a rhythm. He's got one of the best looking arms in the #XFL. pic.twitter.com/8GH4ovSBbU

Brett Hundley Makes Vegas Vipers Debut
The decision to not start Hundley most likely was because of how late he came into camp. However, head coach Rod Woodson had seen enough of Perez. Hundley came in in the second quarter and played the rest of the game. He went 11/18 for 98 yards and no scores. What was surprising is that fellow former Packer Geronimo Allison did not have a catch. It was a very average debut but there was some promise shown.
Field Conditions
The field conditions were horrible. It was pouring rain in Las Vegas and the field was painted green to make it look better. Players were sliding around throughout the game. Despite this, Hundley had some really solid throws. Even his incompletions showed his ability to get the ball down the field. While Vegas dropped this game, Hundley will likely find a lot of success down the road with this offense.
The Vegas Vipers need a spark. They are now 0-2 and the XFL season is much shorter than the NFL season. This means that the Vipers will need Brett Hundley to spark the offense and go on a winning streak.
