It has been a long-known fact that Brett Favre is required to repay over $1 million for a speaking engagement for the Mississippi Welfare Fund. A speaking engagement that he never showed up for. Most recent reports state that he has yet to repay this money, which came from a fund that was meant to help impoverished citizens in Mississippi. A new report by Anna Wolfe is now connecting the dots between Favre, stolen public funds, a pharmaceutical company, and former Mississippi governor Phil Bryant.

Brett Favre Used the Governor to Illegally Obtain Stock

According to Wolfe, Brett Favre hoped to make $20 million by investing in the pharmaceutical company Prevacus. The company touted a nasal spray that would help with tremors and concussions.

According to the report, Brett Favre texted Governor Bryant in 2018: “It’s 3rd and long and we need you to make it happen.” Bryant texted back, “I will open a hole.”

Days later, Favre met with welfare officials and secured a $1.7 million investment in Prevacus. Prosecutors in the case believe the money was stolen from a fund that was meant to help Mississippi’s impoverished residents. Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the country.

Two days after stepping down as governor in 2020, Phil Bryant agreed to accept Prevacus stock. Bryant admits that the timeline does not look good. However, he maintains he never knowingly accept stock that was publicly funded.

It Doesn’t Look Good for Brett Favre

Some more text messages that Brett Favre sent have been made public. It does not look good for the Hall of Fame quarterback.

“Don’t know if legal or not, but he need to cut him [Phil Bryant] in.”

“Also if legal I will give some of my shares to the governor.”

It should be noted that, as of right now, Favre has not been actually accused of any illegal activity.
