The Green Bay Packers will be going into their third season with Joe Barry as their defensive coordinator. Matt LaFleur has stated he doesn’t see any major changes within the coaching Packers’ coaching staff. That decision has been met with a lot of criticism from fans and reporters alike. Just about one month after the Packers’ season ended, an elite defensive coordinator has just become available for hire around the league. Ejiro Evero has parted ways with the Denver Broncos.
Eljiro Evero Has Parted Ways With The Denver Broncos
Ejiro Evero has been a candidate for multiple NFL jobs this offseason. However, he hasn’t had the opportunity to interview for some of them because of his current defensive coordinator contract with the Denver Broncos. That is set to change, however, according to Ian Rapoport. The Broncos will reportedly let Evero out of the contract and that will free him up to interview for other defensive coordinator jobs.
Evero’s next move? He is expected to interview with the Minnesota Vikings for their defensive coordinator job. The Carolina Panthers have also requested permission to interview Ejiro for their defensive coordinator position under head coach Frank Reich.
Evero has also interviewed for a number of head coaching jobs since the end of the regular season, including the still-vacant ones for the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos are expected to interview Steelers linebackers coach Brian Flores and Seahawks associate head coach Sean Desai in their hunt for a new defensive coordinator.
