The Packers have been dealing with a lot of injuries in the first three weeks of the season. David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, and Allen Lazard are back after dealing with injuries. Sammy Watkins is on the injured reserve and Jaire Alexander is battling a groin injury. Late Saturday, there was a surprise addition to the injury report. Packers tackle Yosh Nijman was added to the injury report for Sunday.
Yosh Nijman Added To Injury Report
Packers LT Yosh Nijman (illness) has been added to the injury report and is now questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Patriots.

Yosh Nijman is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Patriots due to an illness. It is unclear exactly what type of illness Nijman is suffering from. There have been some reports of Covid-19 amongst some Packers but because there are no longer Covid protocols, teams do not have to disclose as much information. They did not designated him out for the game so there still is a chance he plays but it is interesting to see Yosh Nijman on the injury report.
What Happens With Bakhtiari’s Playing Time?
The Packers are wanting to ease Bakhtiari back into games. Last week, him and Nijman traded off drives and it worked perfectly. Aaron Rodgers said there was no difference between the two and it allowed Bakhtiari to not have the pressure of playing all the offensive snaps. If Nijman cannot go, what happens? Does Bakhtiari play the whole game? Do the Packers try to swap Bakhtiari out with another tackle? This seems unlikely as Caleb Jones is also dealing with an illness as well and Elgton Jenkins is handling the right side. Rookie Zach Tom is an option but that seems rather risky. If Nijman cannot go, it will be interesting to see how the Packers handle it.
Here’s the good news. An illness is usually not a long term thing. While Nijman may be out for this week, it should not be something that keeps him out multiple weeks. Yosh Nijman on the injury report is something to watch tomorrow as game time approaches.
